CUTS International and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) had organised the mentioned meeting titled “Roundtable on Assessment of India-Bangladesh Trade Potentiality – Need for Cross-Border Transport Facilitation and Mutual Recognition of Standards” in New Delhi on 18th March, 2015.
The purpose of this meeting was to find a broad consensus on some implementation aspects of the proposed sub-regional transport facilitation (motor vehicle) agreement and possible implementation issues with respect to the need for exploring a bilateral agreement on mutual recognition of standards.
Senior officials of the relevant departments/institutions of the Government of India, those of the Government of Bangladesh and representatives of apex business associations from India and Bangladesh were present in the meeting.
